About this series of books.
These books are a great picture/history book about the earliest rails and roads in eastern Ontario. It also covers early log drives, some native canoe routes, and about moving anything around 150 years ago. The first cement works in Ontario were located in Strathcona and it became the site of the first Portland cement plant in North America. Some early mining is examined too. This is a tour guide of our early railways and water ways for the weekend explorer with lots of maps and colour photos.
